Care and shipping

Out of the Attic is not liable for loss, damage, or delay while a package is with the carrier, on the way here or on the way home. Originals travel at your risk in the mail unless you buy return insurance where we offer it. Once your originals are in our hands, we give them white-glove care. We are not liable for damage that was already there, or for items we cannot digitize.

Your originals come home. Local orders are handed back with the files. Mail-in orders are packed and returned with tracking. We pay the base return postage.

We cannot safely scan wet or moldy photos, nitrate film, film that smells like vinegar, or broken glass. Those still come home with the rest of the order. We will tell you which ones we could not scan.
